The flowers of the Nikko Blue are initially cream colored and then get their beautiful blue color. Hydrangeas love sour, nutrient-rich soil that is fairly moist. If you want to add additives to the soil to intensify the color, such as lime or potassium alum, it is best to do this in the autumn. The hydrangea grows to about 100 - 150 cm in height.
